When Eric Clapton joined John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, the English group first saw commercial success coming its way. When Clapton left the band, the Bluesbreaker were a destination that attracted some of the most talented and influential guitarists of the day, in essence turning the band into a school of rock under the tutelage of John Mayall.
